Build the spritz
- Fill a large wine glass with ice to the top for full chilling and maximum carbonation retention. You should see clear ice filling the bowl of the glass.
- Pour in Aperol and add the chilled apple cider. The liquid should turn a glowing orange as it hits the ice.
- Top with prosecco and then add the sparkling water. Bubbles should rise actively from the center of the glass.
- Stir gently once to combine. The drink should look evenly mixed while still foaming slightly.
- Garnish with a thin apple slice and a cinnamon stick, then serve immediately. The garnish should be visible above the rim for an autumn look.
Notes
Pro tip: keep the apple cider and prosecco chilled before assembling so the spritz stays crisp and doesn’t dilute too fast. Store any leftovers only briefly in the fridge, up to 1 day, but carbonation will fade—best to make fresh. Freezing is not recommended. For a lower-alcohol version, replace some prosecco with chilled sparkling water while keeping the same Aperol-to-cider ratio.
